Ladiko bay and its beautiful beach can be found only 15 kilometers away from the capital of Rhodes. It is a small beach of sand and pebbles surrounded by lush green hills. There are also some pine trees on the beach adding to it an exotic atmosphere. The beach was made particularly famous when the filming of Hollywood movie “The Guns of Navarone", starring Anthony Quinn, took place there. Quinn, amazed by Ladiko’s beauty, bought a part of the beach which is since then also known by plainly the famous actor’s name. The reflection of the lush green of the hills around the beach gives its cool waters an exquisite emerald colour. There are also some huge rocks, considered ideal for diving and that’s one of the reasons why young people tend to prefer it over the other beaches of the island.
