If you are looking for unique vacation spots, Emponas is another traditional and picturesque village of Rhodes that will surely delight you. It is built at 850 meters altitude on the mountain of Attaviros, which makes it the highest standing village of the whole island of Rhodes. Due to its geographic location that almost completely isolates Emponas from from the rest of the island, the village has remained unaffected from the effects of tourism. This fact has contributed a lot to the maintenance of its cultural identity and heritage, that passes unchanged from the older generations to the new ones.
